Mapping Our Purpose REALM – Paperback
I’m super-proud to be launching today the paperback version of my book Mapping Our Purpose REALM – The Tribe of the Cowbells. Super-proud and humbled too to hear what some of the early reviewers have said about it already. I’m blessed by some truly wonderful people around me.
The book comes out of all the exploration I’ve been doing on how to lead a full life and how to map a meaningful way forward – all the kind of stuff I’ve been talking about in these Postcards over the last year and in my coaching and development work for a while now.
The book fleshes out the REALM model with a narrative story that I hope will keep readers interested and engaged. The back cover blurb sets out the premise:
“What do you need to learn about yourself to lead a full and meaningful life?
A loved one’s death finds seven characters at a crossroads in their lives. A graduate, a single mother, a grieving lover, a burnt-out consultant, a CFO, a successful surgeon, and a lawyer at the end of his career… The seven seek to map a way forward that talks to their individual purpose and goals. A way forward that talks to their REALM.
Maybe you’ve lost your way. A relationship, a loved one, a role gone. Maybe you’ve achieved everything you set out to do. Maybe you’re looking at yourself and wondering, What next? What could make my time on this blue planet that much more meaningful…?
Call it what you will – your purpose, your calling, your meaning, your contribution, your reason to get out of bed every morning…. If you’re seeking to better understand who you truly are and how you could live life more fully, The Tribe of the Cowbells offers a simple and practical structure for this search.
“‘Finding your purpose’ is too complex and too overwhelming for many. Where to start? How to know it when you see it? In The Cowbells, King starts this journey in the right place: deeply knowing yourself. What’s more, he offers a really imaginative and moving way for readers to think about these things – a set of characters and narrative episodes that explore the idea of a purposeful life. King writes with fluency, humour and love.”
“Seamlessly weaves the important concepts of purpose and living into an engaging story about seven characters at different stages of their lives. Heartfelt and very enjoyable indeed. The book makes you contemplate about life and the difference that you can make.”
I truly hope the book talks to you in some form or fashion. It’s at http://Amazon-MappingOurPurposeREALM if you’re interested in learning more. Be well.
